Al Alhambra is a Moorish military post that includes an impressive palace and grounds. We visited the gardens first and they were very impressive. The entire complex has water features all over it which are feed from the melting snow up on the mountain top and brought down to the palace and grounds by an aqueduct system built by the Moors. Water in the Arabic culture was one of the most important things to the existence of life. Al Alhambra and the gardens feature a great deal of water, many fountains, basins, gutters, to harness the power of water. That evening we went back to tour the main palace. Inside was very detailed and amazing carvings and decorations and many of the rooms had fountains in them.

Health Update: The guys are on the mend but still feeling it a little bit of the bug, the girls on the other hand are feeling the worst of it, and are staying back at the apartment while the guys go out and explore Sevillia. We hope tonight to take in a Flemenco show in Sevillia.

Yesterday I got a CT Scan of my sinuses and I asked the doctor for the images and then I made a video of it. The video is made up of 381 slices through my head. The slices start at the tip of my nose and then go through the head to the back. The results were that everything is normal and the way it is suppose to be. No infections or blockages. The reason why the left side looks large is because I was not sitting perfectly straight in the machine and was at a slight angle.

I had these taken for a month or so but I was busy and did not have time to update the blog and gallery.  I went out with a friend whose car this is and shot some photos around town.  I really like my 10-20mm lens.  It allows me to create some very cool angles.

]]> http://liquidretro.net/2006/08/27/long-overdue-update/feed/ 0 Spain Day 2 http://liquidretro.net/2006/03/19/spain-day-2/ http://liquidretro.net/2006/03/19/spain-day-2/#comments Sun, 19 Mar 2006 17:19:25 +0000 admin http://blog.liquidretro.net/?p=22 Segovia is a great city.  El Aquaducto is very cool.  It is amazing that it is still standing after all of these years.  I had a great lunch of Tortilla Espanola con papas.  It has been raining all day and this evening after we went to the flaminco show it rained very hard.  We took the metro so we would not get as wet.  The Flaminco show was amazing.  The dancers had to have so much endourence and I wish i could of understood the words.  Everyone is mad at the cambios (change).  They do not seem to like to take travlers checks.  Then when we do find one that will they see the group and decide to close.  Being the weekend and Monday being a holiday it is a furstrating process.  My family has loaned me 100E till I can get some money changed.  The food is great.  Churros con Chocolate is fantastic. I  took another 176 photos yesterday and I may go take a few more tonigh.
